Every year, June brings the three longest weeks of my life. From the 1st to the 21st the weather in Alta, Wyoming cannot seem to decide what season it is. One day can be a sunshine filled warm day, the next a wet cold with a little rain, and the next a little snow. The only thing I can count on is the official first day of summer, June 21st. I know by then it will (almost certainly) be warm.
I make my knitting plans to keep busy and help the time fly a little faster, but I’m determined to encourage summer to arrive, so I knit shawls.
As you may already know, fiber fairs are being cancelled all over the US, and as I was planning on attending several, I have instead signed up for some fairs on Facebook. I am participating in two this month on June 13th and 14th.
Saturday, June 13th is Virtual WWKIP Day 2020 (World Wide Knit in Public Day). I’ll be doing a 30 minute live video on this Facebook page. Time to be announced.
Sunday, June 14th I’ll be doing a 45 minute live video on the Virtu-Wool Fiber Fair. I’m scheduled at 3:00 EST. I hope you’ll tune in to one or both of these events. I will have several specials that will only be available with codes given at these events.
The new kit this month is the Ribbon Turquoise Shawl designed by Susanne Visch. This oversized triangular shawl is worked top down with 2 skeins of Handmaiden Alpaca Merino (70% Superwash Merino/30% Baby Alpaca) 2-ply, available in 3 color sets.
Are you think about dyeing a little yarn this summer? This month I’m offering twelve different Landscape Dyes starter kits. Each kit comes with six 20g dye colors AND 4 mini skeins to get you started. This is a $50 value for only $30.
