August 2020 – 4th Annual #MiniSweaterChallenge

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…hiking, canoeing, lake time, cabin time and #MiniSweaterChallenge time!

Mini Sweaters 1 in Bird of Paradise and 3 in Blue Hosta

For prizes this year, I’ll be awarding two each week. One skein in the WayfaringYarns Designs Facebook group and one skein on Instagram. You can post in both places and be eligible for each drawing. There will be two grand prize winners, a sweater’s worth of yarn for each winner!

Mini Sweaters 2 in Lilac and 4 in Kanab

To enter each week: 1 – post your weekly sweater in the WayfaringYarns Design Facebook Group and/or 2 – Post on your Instagram account and tag @SweaterSistersDesigns with the hashtag #MiniSweaterChallenge.

To enter for the grand prize, you must post a photo of all four completed mini sweaters!

The Mini Sweater Guys!

This year the mini sweaters design challenge features cables. There’s nothing that compares to a cozy winter cabled sweater. I own a couple that I throw on over my shirt to run out in the snow and check the mail, or chat with a neighbor, or just use as a jacket to run errands in town.

In my mini sweater designs, I used some of my new colors, designed to mix and match and generally look fabulous together.

I dyed these colors up on one of my favorite bases, Au Naturale, an eco sustainable non-superwash, extra fine merino. I know you all love your superwash yarns, (as do I) but you owe it to yourself to give Au Naturale a try.

Bird of Paradise

I absolutely love working with this luxury, natural base. The hand is very fine, like working with chenille. The resulting sweater stays bouncy, soft and gorgeous and keeps its shape after many hand washes.

Lilac

Best of all, I offer my Au Naturale in 100g, 50g and 25g skeins, perfect for colorwork.

Blue Hosta

Feel free to email me if you’re thinking about a project and would like a consultation on colors to use. Just like your LYS, I’m here for you with any questions you have about the products I carry.

Kanab

Have fun, stay safe and keep knitting, my friends!

Look forward to receiving the patterns for the #4 Mini Sweater Challenge. Will the patterns be sent to all subscribers or is registration required? Where do I register?

I enjoyed the Karen knits podcast where I saw two miniature sweaters. I would like to purchase all of these patterns (also from previous years) to make a garland. But I can’t find hiw it works. Can you help me ?

Sweater #3 appeared in my email inbox this morning, but I sure didn’t see weeks 1 or 2. Is there a place I can snatch them up?
